Denis Riva, known as Deriva, was born in Ganzamonio in 1979. He established himself as a designer, painter, collector, observer, assembler, researcher, installer, experimenter. He lives under the terrible weight of the art that he carries with him every day. His research investigates the temporal dimension triggered by nature, man's time, waiting and the state of observation of the world we live in. His works focus on the recovery of abandoned material; piles, rubble, waste - they become treasures to discover, observe, manage and rework. The foundations of his artistic production are based on drawing, painting, collage and assemblage. The multitude of techniques he adopts is constantly evolving, mixing with previous ones, a way that recalls ancient traditions and brings him closer to the primordial origins of man. The artist lives and works in Follina, a wonderful village in the Treviso area, in a studio-laboratory that was part of the Lanificio Paoletti, founded in 1795.
We warmly invite you to visit the exhibition at Palazzo Pizzini!
