LEGENDS ON WOOD

Legends through Simone Tribuiani's eyes

After the great success of the works of Simone Tribuiani, known as “Tribu,” at the Bologna fairs ArteFiera and BOOMing Cellar Contemporary presents “Legends on Wood,” a collection dedicated to the world of sports and the personalities that have marked its history. Through these creations Tribuiani manages to combine sports and shipyard scraps, two childhood passions of his. Indeed, the works in question are made from pieces of decommissioned boats, similar to the ones he played with as a child.

Tribuiani's world is rooted in the land, an inexhaustible source of artistic inspiration. In fact, he was born in the pleasant and sunny Cesenatico in the summer of '75. After his canonical artistic studies, he lived through various experiences that would lead him, among other things, to collaborate with various public and private institutions. Since he can remember, he has been coloring, daubing, and painting in various forms and ways on the most disparate surfaces but, predominantly, on recycled material.

His creations are reminiscent of stills, defined by him as screenshots, capturing iconic moments and legends from sports history, inspired most by tennis, basketball, soccer and bike.

There's more: in collaboration with Virginia Raffaelli of the Raffaelli Art Studio, we thought of accompanying this special project with a dedicated publication, which will be presented on the occasion of ArtVerona 2024, but which will be available as a preview for those who will purchase one of the works presented for “Legends on Wood”: LA GAZZETTA DEL TRIBU.

Go with the flow and dive into a sea of floating legends.
